Of the five most popular items students say they can’t survive the school year without – including everything from headphones to coffee – it’s probably no surprise that mobile devices top the charts. In fact, 90% of respondents to the Straight Talk back-to-school survey* said that mobile devices are an essential tool for educational purposes.
Every year, students and parents turn to their smartphones and tablets to accomplish even more tasks. Check out the fun facts revealed by our back-to-school survey:
- Headphones are the second most-needed item to survive the school year, with 58% of students indicating that they can’t live without them.
- 60% of parents count on their mobile devices to receive notifications from their kids’ schools, while more than half use their phones to access their child’s grades.
- 81% of students use their mobile devices to stream educational videos, while 75% use them to submit homework assignments.
